The Tune Makers in Carrick-on-Shannon

The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon will set the scene for The Tune Makers this month when Liz Carroll (fiddle), Máirtín O’Connor (accordion), Dave Flynn (guitar) and special guest Charlie Lennon collaborate to bring the most prolific composers in Irish traditional music to showcase their creative musical talents at the Co Leitrim venue.
 The group will take to the stage at the Dock on Wednesday, September 26 next for what is guaranteed to be a night of excellent traditional music from some of the best musicians in the business.



Liz Carroll was born in Chicago of Irish parents. She is a junior and senior All-Ireland Fiddle Champion and has toured as a solo artist and with the Greenfields of America, Trian, String Sisters and John Doyle. In 2009 she became the first Irish-American musician to be nominated for a Grammy Award.
Máirtín O’Connor, meanwhile, was one of the main musical forces behind Riverdance and is also known for his work with De Dannan, Midnight Well and Skylark and as a solo artist. A prolific writer of new material, his tunes can be heard on the recordings of many artists and at sessions throughout the world.
Dave Flynn is an award-winning composer whose music has been performed at festivals including Summergarden, New York; Prague Premieres and HCMF, by artists including the Smith Quartet and the ConTempo Quartet, Prague and Irish Chamber Orchestras, New Juilliard Ensemble, Rolf Hind and Martin Hayes.
